I'll be going to a festival with my deaf friends this weekend. We will be spending time at the beach. It is a wonderful time to catch up and talk about our lives. We get to socialize, use sign language, and make the best of it. Deaf people are not always around other deaf people or people that know sign language. We do feel lonely on some days so we would try to keep up with our insanity by chatting with our friends on the video phone or Skype. We can also lose our signing skills by not using them every day. I am very blessed to have my daughter who knows sign languages to be able to communicate with her everyday, and I don't really lose touch with my signing skills that way. It is important to use them as much as you can whenever you get the chance! It's always wonderful to look for the events in the deaf community in your areas! ;) I will be writing about the festival on my next blog!!!
