Welcome back, Readers!
I have always looked forward to my birthdays as they come with so many wonderful people in my life to celebrate my birthday with and so many things to do together! You can continue to celebrate your birthday for as long as you chose to. I chose to continue to celebrate it over the weekend after my birthday. I will begin with the first day of my journey! I drove from my hometown which is Mount Dora, to one of my friends in Orlando. I picked her up and began our road trip to St. Petersburg, Florida. First, we stopped at one of my favorites, Chiptole, for lunch and had their HUGE delicious vegetarian burritos. I was stuffed and all ready to drive the long way. I stopped a few times to admire the nature and breathe some fresh air. I also took several pictures to begin the memories of my lifetime.
I arrived at a friend’s house in St. Petersburg whom I haven't seen for years. She was so thrilled to see me! I got settled in then began the fun, getting ready to go to a deaf event called DPHH (Deaf Professional Happy Hour). This event doesn't necessarily mean you have to drink or go in early. I go there to socialize with the other deaf people. It was held at a very nice outdoor bar in St Pete. I was the only birthday girl there and the center of attention. =) It really made me feel super special. We all stayed up after the event ended and chatted for as long as we could until we could not anymore. I still had the rest of the weekend ahead. It was time for me to go to my friends to get some sleep.
The next morning on the second day, we were ready to go swimming at a nice, laid-back pool. We had a vegetable feast! I went into a hot spa which I needed and it was very refreshing! The sun went down and it was time to get on with the day. I was still on the go. I went back to my friends to get ready for dinner with a group of friends at Cheesecake Factory! It is one of my favorite restaurants! I had some seared tuna with arugula salad. It was so delicious! They served me a free birthday dessert, which was very kind of them. Then, we went to a place in Tampa where they are open 24 hours a day, Hard Rock Casino! Ironically, I do not gamble but I went to continue the night with my friends. We took some pictures, met some people, and just browsed around at their exhibits and art work of famous people such as Elvis and legacies.
When we got hungry, we went to Steak and Shake to eat late-night snacks and the sun came up! That goes to show how late we stayed up to chat with our friends, taking advantage of all the time we had! It was time for us to leave and go home to get some rest for the next adventures! I only got about 4 hours of sleep. I woke up with excitement to finish my journey. I just could not sleep anymore. My friend cooked breakfast for us then we went to the food store to get items for our cookout lunch. We all ate and chatted some more. When we were done, we all got ready for an event called Drum Circle on the beach at Treasure Island. We all followed cars there and began the day with dancing and listening to the drum beats. I walked on the beach, sat by the water, and chatted with friends.
It is always wonderful wherever you are when you have special people beside you to share stories with. My journey was ending and I did not want it to be over, but it will forever be memorable within me. I will always remember all the good times and wonderful people who spent my birthday with me! Sadly, I had to end the journey. I said my goodbyes to my friends and went on the road to go home. While driving, I was full of fun and adventures, exhausted, and sleep deprived; however, it was worth my while! =) I will forever cherish all moments I have with my friends. They are the best feelings in the world!
