Last year I decided it was time for me to take action and start reaching out to teach people about the deaf community. I want to teach people about American Sign Language and the culture within the deaf community. I have been surprised how many people are completely clueless about this whole subject. I feel that since I have the knowledge it is my job to spread the word. When I made that decision that is when I knew it was time to create this site.
As you can tell, building this site doesn't happen overnight. I had thought of other names for this site before I came up with the name “Deaf Insight”. Originally it was a blog called “A World of Visual Expression”. How many people would find that site when they typed in deaf or ASL into a Google search? I figured not very many. That is when Ann and I decided that we needed a name that included a word someone will search for. I said I wanted this site to be an insight into the deaf community and that is when the name “Deaf Insight” came to life!
I thought creating the website would be the easier part, but I have come to realize that the advertising is just as hard! I believe it is totally worth it though. I want to educate everyone I can. I just need to get this site to be what I hope it will be. After I get this site to where I want it to be I hope to start posting videos to teach the world even more. Please stay tuned and spread the word about the Deaf Insight movement!

I created Deaf Insight to help spread deaf awareness. It is a place for everyone to come together to help share with the world! In this blog, I discuss my thoughts about many things. I hope you all enjoy it!
