There are many angles to Deaf Insight. When you first enter our website you can tell by our entrance that it truly is all about the people. We want Deaf Insight to be a home for people that want to learn, educate, and socialize. We have grown a team of bloggers to help share their life angle as it revolves around either their lives as a deaf or hard of hearing person or a person that is some how connected to the deaf/hard of hearing world. These people help give an insight into the deaf world that many others may not see or have knowledge about. We give a space below the blogs so we may give our viewers a chance to speak their mind about the topics at hand. We want to know your thoughts on every subject discussed. We really want to know what it would take to get more of our viewers to comment on each of the blogs? If you have any tips or advice please contact us.
We also have set up different educational pages to help teach different subjects such as language, culture, history, interpreters, literature, etc. This is a place that we post links to help guide you to the most helpful locations even if it is not a part of our website. We hope to continue to pull all the websites together to help make it easier for a person to navigate through learning of this language, culture, and community. We can't wait to watch this area grow over the next few months. The blog section of our website is growing more quickly than the rest.
Next we have our forum & chat room. These were made for anyone to ask questions, get answers, or just stick around for a great social time. Once a month a social hour called, Deaf Chat is held. The co-hosts of this social hour are the Lipreading Mom, and the founder of Deaf Insight, Monica Hood. During the Deaf Chat, a question is presented and everyone participating in the social hour has a chance to share their thoughts on the subject presented to the group. Past deaf chats have been very successful. This is the main time this chat room is used but it is available for free chat anytime of day or night. If you would like to schedule a specific time slot for an event, contact us and you will be allowed to use it for your event. It is free for all!
There are many parts as shown above and that is what makes our site, Deaf Insight. We hope to continue to grow in all areas and we welcome all the criticism because we feel it will just help us improve what we present to you. You, our viewers, are the main focus of our website. We are here for you and we want to thank you so much for taking time out of your day to visit. We hope to see you again!
