Here the other day a movie came to my mind – “Under the Tuscan sun” with Diane Lane – when she arrives at the house she has bought in Italy, she tells of her dreams and what she hope will come true there. However at the end of the movie (don’t read this if you haven’t seen the movie, I highly recommend it!), she is sad because her dreams didn’t come true, at which one of her new Italian friends points out that in fact those dreams have come true, just not in the way she wanted it to be. For instance she mentions she wanted a wedding to take place there, though she didn’t specified said her wedding, and yet a friend of hers from USA just got married there…
And it got me thinking, because of cause I have dreams I sure want to come true and realized quite a few of my dreams has actually come true, again maybe not in the way and scale I wanted it to be, but they have come true. And what dreams have come true so far for me?
For starters as you may have noticed, I like movies and wanted to be in a movie – I did and still do wish to be in a big movie or TV show for that matter – however I never thought specified what kind of big movie (I can’t see into the future… ;-)) I wanted to be in or where and I have already been in a Danish well known family movie, if 10 seconds can be counted for something, but I was in there and saw how it was done. I wanted to attend some VIP Gala opening of some movies I like and have my photo in a magazine or newspaper. I still have to have a photo in a magazine or newspaper, luckily enough I have attended a few VIP Gala opening which you can read about one of them in previous blog here (had to pay for the cinema ticket on most of them – another dream, to be invited to a VIP Gala Opening). So another dream has come true a few times. (One dream still is to attend a USA VIP opening either in LA or NYC – specifics, specifics…. ;-))….
So how do we look at what dreams we want to come true and should they come true at all? If you ask me, not all dreams should come true otherwise it would be too easy and boring in the long run. Imagine, if whatever you dreamed of, would come true??? There wouldn’t be room enough for everyone’s dream to come true, plus then we wouldn’t work or struggle to reach our dreams as well enjoy the work we have put into it to get there. There are some other dreams however, which are just a tad too hard to reach if you do not know the right people, places or aren’t there in the right place at the right time. Is it fair or is it only a specific group of people who can reach the stars of their dreams? I think in our own way we do reach the stars…. Sure maybe in a smaller scale, but they do come true if you look at it in another way of the scale – even myself. That’s how we meet other people, learn from them and hopefully either move forward or see them as small dreams coming true…. Look at it this way, sure it is a great thing to meet celebs, be in a movie, or whatever your dream to do is. One of the best moments (Ok, I would be lying if I said those moment of celebs meetings isn’t high on my list, but they only last for maybe like 30 seconds of my time/life) I like of my dreams coming true, is meeting other people, like I met one of them last year. She wasn’t a celeb, but just one like me, she was on a vacation trip with her mother and on the way home she and her mother stopped by here in Denmark for 1½-2 days before travelling on. We had chatted with each other online and emailed as well. However it is the real life meeting that means a whole lot more to me. All those other dreams which have come true for me are small/big plus on my side.
Another dream that has come true in another scale you don’t really think about, I have a blog on Deaf Insight, which comes out in USA, that’s too is something J
And yes I do still have some dreams I hope come true one day, I am a dreamer after all…. :-)
