Ever had a moment where you thought, am I on the right train and then discovered you weren’t? Or when the train is cancelled and doesn’t go any further and you see everyone leaving the train not knowing what is going on? Or if a message is coming over the speaker and you can’t hear it – well even the normal hearing people can’t hear it either, most of the time – what do you do then?
Well as for being sure you are on the right train in the right direction, the Danish trains have screens that show which station you are at. It is rather helpful if you have your head full of other things and looking down at a newspaper or book. Or one day you run for the train, make it in time before the door closes in on you only to discover it goes in the wrong direction away from your destination.
If you don’t make the train, there are both an information board and a screen that shows when the train will arrive or if it is delayed. There is even an app you can download just to check before you even leave for the train. So the delay and timing can change a dull train ride to an interesting day if you haven’t looked at the time schedule.
