By the time this blog is posted, the Olympic Games will be in full swing and I will probably watch a bit of it. It should be easier this time as I am only a hour ahead of England, the question is what to follow and watch. In my past, I have competed in show jumping on horses, as dancer and way back in time I was a runner/gym. It was a mix of a few gyms that we did at school for 2-3 days and I scored too many points and won gold. During the Olympics, I may mostly follow those that have show jumping/dressage or military. I will definitely watch the Danish men’s handball to see if they can follow up on their European Championship that they won back this winter.
Recently, I was asked if I was going to the Olympic Games, which sadly I am not mostly due to the fact I'm financially not up for it. As I think about it, would I want to go to such a big event? I really don’t know because when I think back to when I competed on a way low level compared to this event. I am pretty sure the same chaos, excitements and organization of it all is about the same on a bigger level. Sure if it was a once in a lifetime event, I’d go and follow the Danish men’s handball and see what other Danish team were in the Games.
For those who take part in the Games, it is the event of all events to be in. For the Game and not sadly the past few years just to win. Recently the Royal Danish Royal Crown Prince co-wrote on the free newspaper called “Metro” and he pointed out that everyone should remember Olympic value like: “Excellence, Friendship and respect”. That is something for everyone to remember and hopefully uphold during this event.
I hope for a great time for the Olympic Games in London, England.
