Hello again, Heather here from TinyTalk in Leicester UK, and this week I would like to explain the fun I had making a current bun for one of the songs we sing to at TinyTalk.
Here is me at my mummy's house knitting, I really wanted to make the three current buns in the bakers shop but actually only managed to make the one but I will still show you through my attempt. Props are really important for a child's visual recognition and also it makes great role play as well as performing the key signs with in the song.
OK here I am starting my project and the photos below are ones of the project under way and then we have the finished product .
Three Current Buns In A Bakers Shop
Three current buns in a bakers shop
big ones round ones cherry's on the top
Along came baby with his penny one day
Picked a current bun and took it away.
Now for bun I would sign Cake the reason is because it is one of the core signs, I often sign many more such as cherry and with but that may confuse a child when it is really the cake sign we are teaching them at that time.
Using props for the songs is great fun and also for the core signs that are taught each week, below are some props Beth Peat made for her classes, I have to admit her knitting is very good indeed, enjoy.
They are just adorable they really are. SO here you go some props that were made by teachers and to make the classes fun and interactive. I also have many animal props but would love to have a collection like Beth for different songs it is hard to buy the props from.
Hope you enjoyed reading this and will see you again next week.
I am a mother of 4, teach baby signing and also BSL level 2 qualified, love TKD and much more.
