I attend baby shows and other events to help spread the word about baby signing, I am shy in fact and find I always do far better when there are more TinyTalk teachers as I seem to find more confidence, today though was a friendly affair and I met a past TinyTalk teacher also as she is now the founder of Ellies Fund and you can read her amazing heart felt story on her site.
At the fayre today there was peppa pig and also these really scary storm troopers but they were fab very realistic and I had a fabulous day.
The other thing that lots of money will have been made for Ellies fund to help with brain tumor research which makes the day really good.
These events also give me a good chance to chat to all the exhibitors and do some networking letting everyone know all about the importance of baby signing and language development.
I was able to do a couple of demonstrations also but did not take any photos as I can not ask everyone for permission to use the photo. I had lots of older toddlers rather than babies at my first demonstration but you know I really enjoyed it, they all really enjoyed the singing part and they all shouted out the answers to the questions such as what is this animal I am holding and where do fish love etc. They also all joined in so very well with all the songs, I really enjoyed it through and through. I also like the fact that some of these children watch a program here in the UK called Something Special which using signs based on BSL and is called Makaton though most are the same by some exceptions and so many knew the animal signs and joined in with eagerness.
I hope lots of people found out more about the benefits of baby signing today and I am eager to let people learn more.
It has been such a busy week end with the big development day yesterday as well and the family fayre today it has been lovely.
I am a mother of 4, teach baby signing and also BSL level 2 qualified, love TKD and much more.
