My passion is to have as many families using baby signing as I possibly can, how can I do this? well keep on with my classes for one, support others that do the same and also get more nurseries to use the baby signing within their nursery would be another thing to dao.
I am one of the organisational coordinators for TinyTalk and so it is part of my role in helping the other teachers to get more nurseries trained and to also encourage for child minders and other child care professionals to have the training necessary so they can use signing with the children in their care.
This year I aim to get more and more trained as communication is really a very important aspect for a baby, it will help the child to build confidence as well as language barriers and set the little one on a great start in life. We can add signing to the love of reading which is something all children learn to do and once a child can read they can assess many other topics and read about them and understand. You can add signing to every day songs which is such a great way to remember a song and help the memory as well as having a lot of fun along the way.
So you see my passion to help get these course rolled out all over the UK is bursting within and if you would like to find out more please do check the TinyTalk website.
When I do these courses I am always amazed at how fast everybody learns the 150 signs that are in our Baby Signing curriculum, with the support each person have from one another it is just a pleasure to see them helping one another, thinking of ways among them selves to remember the signs and the feed back I have received from nurseries is brilliant.
So lets help my passion to help as many nurseries and child care professionals be trained so they can use signing to the children in their care.
Lots of nurseries also go ahead have fun cutting the the signing packs and attaching to certain objects around the nursery, other nurseries take photos of each other signing and put those around the nursery it is great to see.
When returning to be sure staff know the signs that were taught it is always a pleasure to learn that they have been helping one another to remember the signs and using them consistently with the children.
I do love what I do and will soon share some photos of training at a later date.
I am a mother of 4, teach baby signing and also BSL level 2 qualified, love TKD and much more.
