Hello from TinyTalk Leicester in the UK where we love using baby signing to aid communication with our babies.
Today I am so proud of lots of babies and also their parents and the whole family, I have found that the more people who sign at home with the child the more signs the child performs and always as I have been teaching 4 years now the child has a wide vocabulary by the age of two and always remarked upon at the nursery or pre school etc.
This little boy does not come any more as mum is working but the family still continue to use the signs within the home and even forgot that the cat may not quite understand like a baby would as mum was so very keen to teach her child and look it all paid of as the little boy is signing cold, if I remember right it was his food that was cold .
I make friends with so many families and always sad when they stop coming due to school or mum starting back at work and really happy when they come back with baby number two.
What is scary though is that the first ever babies that came to my classes are now in full time school wow how did that happen?
I have a story about a little boy called Adam, he was one of my very first babies in the classes and I remember mum and grandma at the class all alone and the Adam carried on coming to my baby signing classes and even bought the whole family one day and the siblings were all signing away helping their baby brother. Now one of the little girls well she is a teen ager now has communicated with a Deaf child in the school through the simple signs she learned through TinyTalk that her little brother had taught her, isn't that amazing? Well I surly think so. Adam went on to do toddler talk our toddler class but traveled for that class as I did not teach that one then, though as soon as I was teaching back he came to my classes until he went to pre school.
I am always sad to see them leave but I really have a lump in my throat with the success stories I have in my class. I am hoping I can write about 3 children I have currently in my Toddler Classes who have been coming for well over two years with their children and they are really good friends we will see.
I also have mums come back with their second baby, they say they have forgotten the signs but then say how amazed that they all came flooding back.
I feel so very proud that I am able to help families, I also get emotional when a baby signs for their very first sign, when a child signs lots all of a sudden and is able to communicate with mummy and daddy it is so over whelming and I simply love baby signing.
Please if you have any questions any at all do ask, would you like me to write on something in particular we have many teachers within TinyTalk and I can always ask for help.
Just going to sleep happy now as one little girl is on camera signing duck , I saw it on her daddy's facebook wall, I was so proud.
